This is the first of the series for the report on our fishing trip to KK, since it would be too long to fit into a single blog, I guessed its best to split them up to a few series for easy reading.
This fishing trip was planned since year 2005, where our first attempt to go out to sea was hit by the tail end of the Taiwan typhoon and have to abandon our fishing trip due to safety reasons – we end up with buying fish from the market and airport (I’m not kidding!). So after the first disappointment, we were all ready and geared up (furthermore the earlier group that went on May gave us great news – tons on catch in only 2 days of fishing, the other days were abandon due to sea condition). Reported conditions the day we took off for KK however was not promising as the weather forecast was thunderstorm throughout the whole week and calls made to a friend over there in KK was bad too (rain & flooding).
So departure date has finally arrived, expectations was high – but the worry of the thunderstorm forecast has been looming over our minds all the way there. When we arrived the weather was sort of cloudy, and no rain (beautiful fishing conditions) we were however reminded of the thunderstorm forecast in the hotel (best things was the forecast was accurate for the few days past)
First night was spent on KK itself, with us just getting the glimpse of our fishing boat. Dinner that night was at THE MOST expensive restaurant in KK (well, Singaporean meeting up with a Dato’ ma, so wanna impress kua), and spent the remaining night watching Argentina trash Serbia and Montenegro 6-0, and first half of Holland’s match.
The next morning we were suppose to leave the hotel at 7.00 in the morning have our breakfast and with the lack of sleep (due to the WC and thundering tones/tunes in my room) and having a booming headache already in the morning, was getting worried that the whole fishing trip will be spoiled by having seasick and the thunderstorm forecast…
End of 1st series of KK06.
