okay okay… so this isn’t no spiderman movie crap thingy. Its just another one of my talking off sessions…
I’ve just joined a forum, shutterasia – its another one of those forumers created website for photography. (most were supposedly fed up with the way the big forums acted, etc etc…) so here I was after a couple of month joining and kinda enjoying it, as most are newbies like myself and there are some “good and experienced” photographers in there. A chance to learn and make new friends.

Well, as the saying goes… all good things comes to an end… I was kinda shocked / turned off by one of their self proclaimed / title given “Shutter God” – still heated over yesterdays blog. (yeah! Its 2 blogs in 2 days!!! Something to keep you occupied for awhile). Here was a simple and innocent question by a newbie (what I can guess is a new photographer with a D40) to a certain posting, asking what gear / lense he has used to photograph his macro shot. I think I’ll just paste the comments below (actual names has been removed of course):
Newbie:
ncie 1 ...sharp set.. using what lense??
Mr. “Shutter God”
I wish people would stop asking these kind of questions, it's really rather insulting to the photographer. If you were writing a book, wouldn't you be bothered if people read your book and said "Nice book, what typewriter did you use?".
Newbie:
opsss....due to that issue i apology for the stupid statement that i have made....DUE TO SOME ISSUE THAT IS NOT ALLOW TO ASK>>>>>>... I would rather say.....nice photo.. good set of photo. keep in going... I asked that question because I am curious about what thing is he using, if this makes you not satisfy then is ok..sorry for that..I WONT ASK IT NEXT TIME..NO WORRY !!!!
here I’m wondering…. What did the newbie do that he has to apologies for? As I see it, isn’t it a forum? And newbies as newbies are, would not know how to pull out the EXIF info from the pic to guess what lense he used. He may just wanted to know / have interest to shoot macros as well. I can understand the newbies frustration.
Well… as humans would have it… once your ego has been overblowned like a certain “God”… I guess they would think that they have the rights to say anything they want to and what ever they think its right for them as long as they feel their in charge? I pity the newbie…
Oh yeah, if you’re wondering… the newbie is not me… just happened to bump into the “Casual Macro” thread in shutterasia.
