Maxis townhall

This gathering / chat session is a brainchild of our Maxis CTO to have a better understanding or communication session of what is the direction of the company or division and also to address the issues faced by the company. Personally i think its a good move by the management side, to improve the working proficiency and to get to know him better. Its also to address the supposed "unhappiness" of the technical staffs in the company.

Truth is, although it was a done with good intension, it somehow didn't turned out quite that well from my side of view. The internal running committee themselves are not that good of talking terms, well... mostly because most of them wanted to be on CTO's good side and to be more "visible" infront of the main man, leading to some manipulation and maneuvering to who would be doing the interview. The supposed 4 hour event turned out to be a 6 hour event due to the Malaysian culture of being fashionably late and the so called "committee" can't even get things ready on the preset time.

From the supposed 4 hour cum 6 hour event, most of the "irate" workers / the targeted audience had already left even less than 2 hours into the alarm. Now here's why i said the event didn't really work out. It was suppose to address most of the issues faced by the division, and being most of the irate worker already left (leaving only staffs below 2 years and senior staffs that's just waiting for their million dollar esos's) the event didn't really get the true voice of the work force. The event itself, or should i say the interview and questions were fixed, and pre approved by the big man himself. Seriously, who in the world would be really interested on how your children loves Malaysian weather and summer like feel?

So here's some of the photo's of the event... nothing much to report from it... as i guess, its just how most staffs in our division feels about the company.. and if you don't believe me? have a look at the number of resignations in the pass few months from the Engineering division. Oh one word to the CTO - stalling the promotions of all the staffs under your division just because you're too lazy to do it according to the company's policy does not get you into the right shoes of the whole division. Being LAZY is never an excuse! so here's to you, you arrogant / ignorant red haired ghost!

Nibble nibble, taut taut, STRIKE! Fish On!!!
