Series 1: The Planning and the Headache
Now, most if not all of you about to read this thread already know that I had planned 2 weddings, 12th may in Batu Gajah – where our church wedding will be held and on 19th May where the KL dinner would be.
Now let me explain in as few words as I can (so you can go on to the next series) about hat was the headache is all about.
Planned:
1) house renovation completion date = 1 May
2) furniture & built in completion = 5 May
3) final confirmation of wedding seating location = 5 May
4) heading north to Batu Gajah = 10 May
5) church wedding day = 12 May
6) back to KL= 13 May
7) KL wedding = 19 May
8) Thereafter honeymoon……..
Actual:
1) renovation completion: 1 June (FAILED KPI)
2) furniture & built in completion = 9 June (FAILED KPI)
3) final confirmation of wedding seating location = 17 May (FAILED KPI)
4) back to Batu Gajah (Meet KPI)
5) church wedding (meet KPI)
6) back to KL (meet KPI)
7) honeymoon (meet KPI)
so… as you can see, when you have a wedding coming along, and a lot of things are not falling into plan, it’s a volcano ready to erupt. Almost half of the things we have planned never meet the targeted date and it was just horrendous and nerve wrecking to say the least.
Let me Bitch abit first before I go on the the lovie dovie ya…
1) renovation was seriously delayed, and compromised on our moving in date… furthermore my parents blood pressure was raised double the notch! Ahaha… but I’m really blessed that they stood by me all this while and handled most of the renovation dealings with the contractors. So when it came to the week just before THE DAY, we decided to leave it out and stay on at my parets house and let them complete the project (total paid : RM50k – including furniture and “stuffs”)
2) furniture was hell…. Especially the stuffs bought from the furniture stall beside LDP called CAVENCI – to all my friends I would NEVER EVER advise them to EVER buy things from there and would NEVER recommend or better still to warn EVERYONE that I know of to NEVER to get things from there! Remember the name: CAVENCI!!! Never EVER buy things from there else you’ll regret it.
i) they screw up all the delivery times telling some stories on how incompetent their other departments are (sales / delivery/ logistics)
ii) they’ll try to lie their way through everything (claiming that there was never an order / such product / colour) – but finally ending up delivered the actual furniture when you threaten to bring this up to press or make big problems for them (oh yeah, on their delivery sheet, they cancelled some one else’s delivery - which bough the stuff at a much later date than I did – to send mine back to our house)
iii) how can a logistics department claim that such product does not exist but they manage to send one on that day?
iv) Sales person was so extremely rude when you have already paid, and when they have totally screwed up your delivery date. So since being the mr. polite and nice guy wasn’t working, I blew my top on that faithful delivery day. I have never ever cursed and swear like what I did on that day itself and I think even everyone, parents and neighbours thought that I had killed someone then :P forgive me ya… that was the limit for me on that day, and I just can’t handle all this in competency anymore…
3) Wedding seating location I can say it was changed even on the night before!!! Thanks to some inconsiderate people that has earlier confirmed their attendance and changed their last minute change of plan. Yeah this is referring to you BOTAK! And I STILL think you are as incompetent as ever and still man with no integrity!
So now for the meet KPI stuffs (too much work liau, must chill out liau) – luckily for all the key and most important thing is the wedding day and honemoon plan.. everything except for the seating arrangements was smooth (will bring this up in Series 3)
So from this you’ll be able to guess how much stress all of us was just before the wedding day, but now looking back on it – I guess it’s a lesson to learn and to see how much we can handle together as a couple…
Nibble nibble, taut taut, STRIKE! Fish On!!!
