D300 final exam - DUMC Easter Morning Celebration 08

So here's another chance to test out my new toy again, and this time a much stringent test with ISO expected to go as high as 1600 for most times especially when there is no flash photography is allowed. Its been a busy weekend for DUMC with four services and event on one Sunday alone. There were urgent calls from our head of ministry for photographers for all 4 sessions (5.30am Easter Sunrise, 10am Easter Morning Celebration, 5.30pm Easter Evening Dedication, 7pm Easter Dinner).
Your's truly has been slotted into the 10am lone man shooter as the rest will be more occupied with the Dedication dinner and Sunrise celebration. So with last years experience of ISO800 with a monopod still getting underexposed photos (or blurry photos when we bump down the shutter speeds), i was raring to go with a ISO 1600 test.
As the first test shot went, it was alright (on stage that is), but once i shot the audience area, my confidence actually went down with the lighting... it was not only dark, but the WB was a nightmare! Good thing i had my fast lens with me and with the settings at the extreme, i shot away.

Over all the performance of the D300 has exceeded most of my expectations, with most of the WB were almost spot on (not much PP that i did for all these photos). All the photos here we're shot in full manual mode (A/ S / P settings is usefull when you have ample of sunlight, but overall i use it as a first test shot then changing to full manual to get the correct constant exposures for all the photos)
