I've been meaning to write this since the gov announce the 12th General election but didn't really had the time to do so. However, thanks to the thousands of responsible Malaysian's today, most of them have already traveled back to their hometowns to exercise their right to vote for who they would think is better to represent their constituency and to lead the country.
I'm sure almost everyone that has access to internet would be receiving significant amount of mails being sent in regarding how "X" party is being corrupted or how "Y" party would never be able to lead the country. To tell you the truth, i am getting kinda sick to have to delete all those mails. I know, i know, "its to make you aware on whats going on", "you should do the right thing", "this party is evil, that party is evil".
well, you know what? I don't really give a rats ass to what other people has to say about any party or how good or bad they are in my mail and handphone. To those who are already in the "big city" we've already somewhat made up our minds on who to vote even before they've announce the general election dates. It doesn't really matter also to whom i'll be voting or how many "hate mails" or "warning sms" are sent out, i'll still believe that BN will STILL win by 2/3 majority. This is not really to discourage anyone from going to vote, its just that the way it is, and WILL BE after the election.
Now for you "highly educated" folks in the city, sit back, cool down and just think about it. How many malaysian's have internet access? i would say less than 40%? and about 70% of the nation actually registered to vote? taken away from that 70% probably 50% of those are supporting the current government? (army, police, civil servants, etc etc.... which require post voting?) now take away another 15% that says i'm sure to vote the opposition, and now you'll have the remaining that either does not even bother to vote, or they'll probably spoil the vote or make up their minds to vote just who ever would give them cash? so HOW in the world would BN not win by 2/3?
Now here's down to more "stuffs" i think BN would definitely win by 2/3 - now just leave all those crap about the post voting - and i think our so called "awakening the public" through the usage of internet would even make a slight difference..... We all know how much difference media works on human right? so just wake up and smell the coffee... seen how much propaganda BN has been receiving through all the papers, TV, ASTRO, radio, you name it - so here's why i say you internet savvy people would not make much difference during this coming election. imagine yourself as a farmer, having no internet connection and all you have with contact to the outer world is through media (of course plus alittle incentive that BN will ALWAYS give free meals during their "ceramah" ) why would you not vote for BN? hell, who cares about the opposition winning? BN gave my family the land title even though we've waited for umteen years???? who cares about the pig farms when i'm given compensation (so i can go gamble in genting), who cares about opposition while i still can buy house at 10% off and i don't need to worry that my children will surely get into University even if he fails most of his subject cause all these stupid other races would have to go overseas to get their degrees and go through hell of a trouble to just get their children admitted. Why should i not support BN when i can just simply rob a family of their rights to bury their own loved ones (now this even one of the opposition party would want it).
So how in the world would the opposition even overcome this overwhelming odds?
1) opposition lacks the financial fortitude to even pay for their postage printing while BN just throws all the money around buying free meals, giving ang pows and making the roads more dangerous with those large banners that can fall onto the highway at any point of time?
2) how can the opposition even stand a chance when BN controls all the media?
3) how do you even track the postal votes?
4) now that our ever brilliant SPR got rid of the inking procedure, how would you track your so called "phantom voter"?
5) opposition chance of numbers in parliamentary seats? have you even seen how the constituencies are separated?
6) inciting hate mails / messages to change the votes? i doubt it...
so what ever it is la, i'll still be voting cause its my right to do so and its our responsibility, but i still think it wont be doing the nation any good... cause the 2/3 will still belong to BN.... so my friends, i personally see no hope in malaysian with the way things are going "(no matter how hard we even pray for a change) - with this much corruption and unfairness going on, only GOD can save us now.. and that is also depends on IF we'll be even be able to practice our own faith in the future.....
so ta ta for now
Nibble nibble, taut taut, STRIKE! Fish On!!!
